Facebook Ad Manager’s Nifty New Features

By Rob McNair

Facebook rolled out an updated version of their ad manager earlier this month. Facebook has worked to make it less monotonous and more visual. You now get served ad analytics all on one page with a few colourful graphs thrown in.

Perhaps the biggest update is the ‘connections’ option, which shows people that have connected with your business after they have been served your ad whether they have clicked or not!

Another big change is the ability to see the total audience reach. Whereas previously there was a summary of the number of clicks on an ad, you can now see a simple illustration of how many people were reached through your ad campaign, in comparison to your potential reach.

You can see our slides from the tour below which show a number of the other new features, or read the recently updated Facebook ad manager guide below for more info.

A couple of other useful features include the option to customise your graphs and preview ad target options. Within the ad dashboard you can customise the type of graph, as well as selecting features such as clicks, impressions or CTR (click through rate) for an individual ad. It is now also possible to see a preview of the ad targeting options within the summary screen.

What do you think of the new ad manager? Does the visualised interface make it is easier to convey campaign information? Is the connections feature going revolutionise ad campaigns? What do you think, is the new ad manager update clever or clueless? Let us know in the comments…
