@JonnieMarbles tweets before “splatting” Murdoch

By Rob McNair

You may have seen today’s select committee enquiry with Rupert and James Murdoch hijacked by a plate of shaving foam.

It seems the culprit took to Twitter before attacking Mr Murdoch Snr, which begs the question – don’t the police watch Twitter and cross reference with attendees?!

As his profile states; “activist, comedian, father figure and all-round nonsense”, Jonnie Marbles was quick to tweet “it is a far better thing that I do now than I have ever done before #splat” before seemingly plunging a plate of foam into the face of Rupert Murdoch in protest over the phone-hacking scandal.

Murdoch’s wife Wendi was quick to defend her husband, although the same can’t be said for Marbles’ girlfriend, who almost instantly amended her Twitter profile to read “Not funny. Not clever. Not your girlfriend”.

Marbles’ followers at the time of writing leaped by 2,000 with various subjects trending, including #piegate started by Simon Pegg.
