Currently, two different Page insights icons appear on administrators’ dashboards. The one in the left-hand column leads to the new insights, while the one in the right-hand column, goes to the old. Even though the new Facebook insights have been around for over 6 weeks now Facebook have just created an online tutorial about the new Page insights, putting the course on a separate website. The Learn Page Insights site features a 20-minute video hosted by a Facebook Product Marketing Manager. The tutorial includes:
- The newest metric, “talking about this” and how it can help inform your Page
- Measurement of reach now replaces impressions
- How to optimize based on post metrics
- How to expand your Page’s reach and virality
This may be useful to people who are still using the old Facebook insights as they have begun notifying Page admins that the old insights will be phased out from 15th December. On that day, Facebook will stop collecting data for the old Page insights and by 15th February and they will be fully removed from the social network.
