Twitter Redesigns Their Phone and Computer Apps

By Rob McNair

Twitter has just announced a major redesign to their Smart Phone and computer apps. These new apps will be, according to Twitter, “A faster, simpler way to stay close to everything you care about.”

So What’s New?

Connect Section

The @mention section has been renamed “Connect”, it is a hub for all the happenings around you and your profile. It’s the place to see who has followed or mentioned you, retweeted or favorited one of your Tweets. Connect is your way to keep the conversation flowing.

Discover Section

Discover is a new Twitter feature that lets you discover things based on a number of things, Twitter explains it as, “When you use Discover, you’ll see results reflecting your interests—based on your current location, what you follow and what’s happening in the world. As you use Twitter more, Discover gets even better at serving up more content just for you.”

Twitter say that you can get early access to the computer app by downloading the mobile app here for iPhone and Android.

Has anyone seen these new features? Will the Discovery section be a great add on or a waste of space? Let us know in the comments…
