McDonalds introduces #MakeMyFilm campaign

By Danielle Wynne

Always seen yourself as the next Tarantino? Well with McDonalds Canada you could be in with the chance to see your masterpiece on the ‘big screen’. The campaign idea, from Tribal Worldwide, asks followers of the brand to come up with a film storyline starring a McDonald’s product in 140 characters or less. Using a promotional microsite and the hashtag #MakeMyFilm, @McD_Canada will make short films from 12 of the best ideas, with prizes ranging from private movie screenings to movie passes and theatre gift cards. The sheer absurdity of the idea makes it quite brilliant – bringing in an interactive element of fun for a wide range of users and so far a number of people have got involved. mc   Although users dreams of reaching the ‘big screen’ might not quite be realised through entering the competition it’s a fun, interactive idea that increases overall user engagement and awareness of McDonalds’ ‘starring’ products.

Mca’s campaign rating – 2.5/5
