St Patrick’s Day was rather quiet this year from brands compared to last years offerings: Baileys, Kiss Me Quick – Guinness, Friendliest Day of The Year – Bord Bia, The Biggest St Patrick’s Day Feast Ever.
However, we were able to find a few golden nuggets from the social media pot…
Fáilte Ireland – #IrelandInspires
This viral video by the Irish tourism body, Failte, was created ahead of St Patrick’s Day to celebrate the country’s national day.
The YouTube video, which received over 1 million view globally, features moving postcards of the best that Ireland has to offer, including its scenery, culture and heritage of sports and music.
The film uses the hashtag #IrelandInspires – an ongoing campaign started in 2012, piggybacking on the London Olympics, the campaign aims are to celebrate the wealth and diversity of Irish arts, support the professional and voluntary Irish cultural contribution and work with the Irish community across Britain.
The campaign continues over Twitter.
Oreo – Mint Oreo

Dunkin’ Donuts also partnered with Oreo in offering a seasonal mint Oreo donut
Guinness – #GuinnessSPW
Since St Patrick’s Day was on a Monday this year the brand decided to promote ‘St Patrick’s Weekend’ throughout Canada.
The microsite allowed Canadians to enter the day they wished to party along with their location to reveal what events were happening in their area.
‘One Weekend. Four Choices. When Will You Celebrate During Guinness St Patrick’s Weekend 2014?’
Users were then prompted to invite a friend and share on Twitter and Facebook.
