Marc Jacobs – #CastMeMarc
Marc Jacobs, the digital savvy designer has launched a new online campaign to find the new face of its 2014 Fall collection. The campaign was launched by its sister brand, Marc by Marc Jacobs and has been headed up by its two new British creative directors, Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley.
The campaign launched from the 2nd to the 9th of April and was heavily featured on Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag #CastMeMarc. The trendy brand has been flooded with selfies from around the world, aspiring models hoping to be the next face of its Autumn/Winter campaign.
No surprise the brand has took a fresh approach to casting with its two new creatives; the pair is looking for anyone that will fit the brand and if it’s anything to go by their last campaign, they’ll be looking for fierce newcomers with attitude.
Alcatel One Touch – The Unexpected Casting
Following the massive trend this year of the ‘selfie’ Alcatel One Touch, the mobile phone manufacturer, incorporate it in their latest campaign. Like Marc Jacobs they’ve used the opportunity of social media for their next casting.
The campaign runs for the next month and is featured on a microsite where participants can upload five creative photo styles – naughty, wild, geek, dumb and kiddo. Three lucky winners will be featured in their next global ad campaign.
Swedish House Mafia – Leave The World Behind
Swedish House Mafia, the electronic dance trio are releasing a documentary movie around their final tour, which took place last year after they announced they’d be slitting up in 2012.
The movie exclusively premiers on the 15th April over iTunes and in preparation they have launched a Leave The World Behind Twitter takeover. After entering your Twitter handler on the site they literally take over your Twitter with some very cool effects in promoting the films trailer.
