We’re feeling very proud here at myclever™ Agency after helping long-time client Gumtree launch their only brand refresh since 2000.
Complete with a new logo, brand identity, tone of voice and improvements across its mobile and desktop channels, it’s a firm indicator of the classified ad site’s forward momentum.
With the goal of becoming a top 10 website in the UK, Gumtree’s brief was to create a new brand identity that represents who they are today: modern, simple, and digital. To do this Gumtree worked with Fold7, Manifest and Koto, the super talented team behind the amazing new logo.
Not only did we come up with the winning hashtag #ItStartsHere, which has had 235 mentions and over 2 million impressions on launch day alone, we were involved in developing all social content and are representing the social voice of Gumtree throughout this exciting time… and beyond.
As well as this, we wanted to get people talking (which is something we’re really good at!), so we uncovered top influencers across social media, analysed what they liked and sent them each a personalised gift, purchased on Gumtree.
Another key focus for Gumtree was improving customer service. We set up @helpmegumtree, a Twitter account dedicated to helping customers, 24 hours a day. We have supported its launch with an ongoing social media training programme for the existing customer service team.
This new identity is just the beginning, with a new series of TV ads launching for the first time during Gogglebox on Friday 15th January, and of course we’ll be manning the brand’s social community throughout!
