Mid-Level Developer

We’re looking for a mid-level, full-stack web developer to join our award-winning agency based in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Due to our continued growth, we require a progressive and adaptable individual with a passion for all things digital.

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for managing and developing the agency’s internal framework and current website portfolio, in addition to administrating the AWS hosting infrastructure. You’ll be expected to work proactively with the support of the agency’s production resources, and will report to the Head of Content Production.

In this role, you will be expected to be key in determining technical direction and be able to work with a project manager to produce technical specification documents, formulate deliverables and timelines.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Development of PHP and JavaScript application code
  • Developing and deploying the Laravel framework
  • Maintaining the websites and codebase of our legacy CakePHP framework
  • Server and hosting infrastructure management, security and asset management
  • Leading front-end deployment, user-interface development and responsive layouts
  • UX elements, concepts and wireframes
  • Document technical specifications
  • Managing device testing and testing platforms
  • Leading development and maintenance of MCA web assets
  • Evaluating, proposing and providing solutions to client briefs
  • Communicating and pitching development elements of projects to key stake-holders

Secondary Responsibilities

  • WordPress maintenance and security, including patch management
  • Facebook, Twitter and Instagram API integration
  • PHP, MySQL, Nginx and Apache application deployment
  • Co-managing version control GIT repositories
  • Image asset specification and preparation, including some design tasks
  • Designing and developing emails for single or bulk transmission

Technical Requirements

  • Responsive/mobile-first development
  • Strong HTML5 and CSS3 experience
  • PHP, Laravel, CakePHP
  • Foundation framework, SASS
  • MySQL
  • JavaScript, jQuery, Phaser.js, D3.js
  • Facebook/Twitter/Google API, Rest
  • Facebook Page Tab apps
  • Linux command line, Git, SSH, Nginx/Apache, VM
  • AWS hosting infrastructure (in particular EC2, RDS MySQL and S3)
  • Server analytics, including Google Analytics
  • DNS management
  • Wireframing
  • Application testing and debugging
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
  • Bitbucket and/or Github

Technical Desirables

  • Experience with Facebook Messenger Bots
  • Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, ES5/ES6
  • NPM, Webpack/Gulp/Grunt, Bower, Less
  • Serverless hosting (AWS API, Lambda, SNS, DynamoDB)
  • Experience with project management tools Basecamp (2/3) and Resource Guru
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 suite

Senior Business Development Manager

The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum 4 years agency sales experience (online marketing) selling to blue chip companies. You will also possess a keen interest in social media and it's use in the B2B arena and will be looking for the next step in your career progression in this highly buoyant sector. The role will involve face-to-face sales meetings & presentations, both in and out of the office.

Responsibilities:
  • Aggressively prospect for new clients via phone & email using combination of the company's sales CRM, personal contacts and cold contacts.
  • Work closely with the senior management team to develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging to drive opportunities for new business
  • Help prepare sales presentations and proposals
  • Attend sales meetings with prospects / join Sales Director on larger pitches
  • Create, prioritise, and qualify strategic target account lists within a defined territory
  • Qualify inbound leads
  • Report on weekly activity
  • Achieve or exceed monthly quotas of Qualified Opportunities, Appointments and Closed
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years of business to business sales experience selling online marketing solutions to blue chip companies
  • Strong work ethic
  • Highly motivated, driven and self-starting individual
  • Cold-calling experience
  • Digital Marketing sales experience a plus (SEO, PPC, Display, Social Media)
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Proficient in using Powerpoint
  • High energy and positive attitude
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and identify potential myclever™ Agency solutions to fulfil these needs
  • Good time management with strong organisational skills
