Twitter Tests ‘Fave People’ Feature
Twitter is testing a new ‘Fave People’ feature that groups preferred users in one separate timeline.
The concept is similar to Twitter’s existing grouping feature ‘Lists’ which lets you organise users into categories such as ‘celebrities’ or ‘journalists.’
Screen shots from TechCrunch state that the feature is being tested on a small group of android users and is yet to be seen on iOS devices. Before Christmas, an update for Android allowed you to favourite other users and opt in to receive a notification for each tweet those favourited accounts published.
The new ‘Fave People’ section will group all of these accounts together in a new timeline tab.
The interface is titled “Keep track of your favourites.” “Tap the star icon on the profiles of your favourite people to see their tweets in this timeline. You can also choose to receive notifications of when they tweet from settings.”
The feature will prove particularly useful for those of you who follow hundreds of accounts on Twitter – ensuring you never miss a tweet from your ‘Fave People.’
Over to you.
What do you think of Twitters latest update? Would you use the ‘Fave People’ list?
